Helen Kattwinkel Tribute Fund

Helen is a lifetime Girl Scout who continues to make a difference through her leadership. For more than three decades, she has been a dedicated Girl Scout volunteer in Hampton Roads where she has held many positions that have included troop leader, neighborhood chairperson, trainer and lead for the Council’s Gold Award Committee. Today, helping girls reach the Girl Scout Gold Award is her top priority - an award that signifies the attainment of leadership through demonstrated use of Girl Scout values. Helen shares the importance of this award with girls and their parents each year when she delivers the Girl Scout Gold Award charge at the Council's annual Gold Award celebration.

Helen has been recognized with many Girl Scout awards, including the Council’s highest award bestowed upon an individual adult – the Dorothy Barber Lifetime Achievement Award. In 2015, an endowment fund was established in Helen’s honor that will be used to support lifetime memberships for Gold Award alumnae.
